Filters and Humidifiers in Duct Cleaning

By Amy Nutt

Having a clean environment is usually something that is on the top of everyone's list in their lives, as it promotes productivity and provides a certain air of calm in any place of residence or business alike. A clean duct is something that is important for a myriad of reasons. The paramount reason would be health reasons, as a dirty duct can really harm the body with all sorts of bacteria. The implementation of filters and humidifiers in duct cleaning are something that is of the benefit of everyone who desires to have cleaner air to inhale, which happens to be everyone on the planet.

Reasoning Behind a Clean Humidifer There are a myriad of reasons why humidifiers and filters are especially helpful in the realm of duct cleaning, which is something that not many people are not aware of. A lot of the time, these things can be neglected and can really muck up the system, both the duct and the person breathing contaminated air. For instance, a dirty humidifier can be a breeding ground for mold, mildew, and nasty bacteria. It can also add a lot of moisture to the air, something not specifically conducive to health, as it can be quite dangerous if neglected for too long.

A Remedy One of the biggest mistakes a person may make with humidifiers is to not disconnect the power from the appliance after the heating session has completed. After that is done, the water valve should also be shut off, and drain the unit for any lingering moisture that may have been accumulated during the heating process. If these steps are not used to protect themselves for any threats the humidifier, they can expect to have trouble breathing, and even other potentially harmful diagnoses in their futures. And to have these health problems because of negligence is something that simply does not have to happen.

Importance of Filters Filters are something that are quite significant in duct cleaning; they help to improve the quality of air by protecting the inhabitants from a lot of the nasty debris that they may breathe in if it were not in place. Standard forced-air furnace filters work, but it is best to get a compressed media filter, as they are much more dedicated to alleviating the contaminated air problem. Using a pleated paper-like material, they can really get the job done and the people using them can really be protected by much of the dirt from behind inhaled.

Clean air is something that really should be on the top of people's list when they are occupying a space for long periods of time, such as a home. Using humidifiers and filters in duct cleaning is paramount, because it assures that the person is fully protected from the dirt, bacteria, and mildew that can be polluting an area. With efforts in place to combat this, the home or business owner can have the peace of mind that they are fully protected against air-borne pollutants that can wreak havoc on even the strongest of immune systems.
